Some of the freeware apps that can serve as alternatives are WinSplit Revolution, windowGrid, and Gridvista. Several freeware applications are compatible with most systems. The applications are free and the download process is hassle-free. If split screen doesn’t work in Windows 10 or 11, there are alternative apps you can install. Do the same if you want to add another program. The program will position itself below the two programs. Step 5: Now if you want to add another program, press the Windows key with the down arrow key. However, press the left arrow key instead of the right one. Step 4: If you want to place the program on the left side of the screen, do the same as described in step 3. It’ll automatically move to the right side of the screen. Step 3: If you want to place the program window on the right side, press the Windows key and the right arrow key simultaneously. How to split the screen between two program windows Now that you’ve enabled the Snap features, you can share your screen and work efficiently on your research or project. Step 6: After you finish the process, you can close the settings. You can select all the options to enable the process. Also, below the slider, you’ll find three options that you can select. Turn on the slider to enable split screen on your PC or laptop. Step 5: Now there’s a slider with an on-off option. It should get divided into 4 quarters as seen in the above screenshot.Step 4: In the next step, click on the Snap windows option. Similarly, drag 4 windows to 4 corners of your screen and release. To include a third window into your screen, drag that window to any corner of your screen and, you will see an outline. Drag the dividing line to resize both windows simultaneously. If you want to resize windows, move your mouse cursor over the dividing line between the windows. Now, these two windows will equally occupy your screen as seen in the above screenshot. Click the window that you want to occupy the other half of your screen. Other windows will now preview on the other half. That window will now occupy one half of your screen. Drag that window to the left or right side of the screen and, you will see an outline. Move your mouse cursor to the top of one window, left-click and hold the mouse button. Using the snap feature, all you need to do is to drag an app/window to any side or corner of the screen to fix it in place. ![]() This should already be enabled by default.
